FFXIV crafting requests: ask for a recipe, or take a request into your material plan

Every crafted item comes from a recipe, and many need a crafter at the right level. The crafting requests board lets a player publish what they need, and lets a crafter open that request in the Crafting Planner with all materials counted.
How do I publish a request?
Sign in, find the recipe by name, set the quantity, choose high quality if you need it, pick your data center and, if you like, add your character name so a crafter can find you in game. Each recipe page also lists its open requests and has a button that starts a request for that recipe.
What do the statuses mean?
Open requests wait for a crafter. Mark yours Taken when a crafter has agreed to make it and Done when you have it; Withdraw removes it. Only the author can change a request. A status is your own statement; the site does not see trades in game.
What does a crafter get?
The Open in the Crafting Planner button carries the recipe and quantity into the planner, which expands every intermediate and raw material for that amount.
Worked example
A player on the Light data center needs three high-quality Hard Leather Skullcap (start this draft). They publish the request; a leatherworker sees it on the skullcap's recipe page and opens it straight into the planner, which counts six Hard Leather, three Cotton Yarn and the shards. When they trade in game, the author marks the request Done.
