FFXIV crafting simulator: try a rotation with your own stats before you spend materials

Every craft is a race between progress, quality, durability and CP. The crafting simulator runs a rotation on a recipe with your own stats and shows each of them after every action, so a rotation can be tried and changed without consuming materials.

How do I practise in the game?

Join a crafting guild and equip its tool. Open Logs, then Crafting Log, select a recipe and choose Trial Synthesis to practise without consuming materials. The simulator follows the same rules for the actions it lists, with the recipe's own progress, quality and durability.

What do the four bars mean?

Progress completes the craft when it reaches the recipe's total. Quality raises the HQ chance up to the recipe's maximum. Durability falls with most actions; the craft fails when it reaches zero before progress is complete. CP pays for the stronger actions. The simulator shows all four after every step, and an action that cannot be used, for lack of level, CP or the right condition, says why.

Where do my stats come from?

Enter the Craftsmanship, Control and CP shown in your character window, or open the simulator from the gearset comparison, which passes the totals of a crafting set with its food and medicine already applied. A recipe's page and the crafting planner open the simulator on that recipe.

Worked example

A level 10 Carpenter with 120 Craftsmanship, 110 Control and 200 CP crafts Maple Lumber. Basic Touch raises quality to 71 of 80 for 18 CP, then Basic Synthesis completes progress at 9 of 9. The craft ends with 20 of 40 durability, 182 of 200 CP and an 84% HQ chance.
