FFXIV inventory space: merge split stacks, vendor or market, and what to keep for crafting

Your inventory and each retainer hold a fixed number of slots, and one slot holds one stack. The inventory space planner shows where the same item sits in several stacks, how many slots merging them frees, what a vendor pays against the market value and which items your crafting plan still needs.

How do I add my items?

Paste the list contents from Allagan Tools, as JSON or CSV with the Name, Quantity, Source and Location columns, or one item per line such as Iron Ore x12. You can also find items by name and add them one at a time. The list stays in this browser only; it is never sent to our servers or put in a share link.

Which stacks can merge?

The same item in the same quality held in more than one stack merges when the total fits in fewer stacks of its stack size. The planner names the container that already holds the most, so you move the smaller stacks there.

Vendor or market?

Each row shows what a vendor pays for the whole stack and its value at the cheapest current listing in your region. When the vendor pays at least as much, or the item cannot be sold on the market board, the row says the vendor pays more. Untradable and unique items are marked.

What does my crafting plan need?

If you have a plan in the Crafting Planner, every material it needs is marked with the amount, and the Keep view lists only those items.

Worked example

Two retainers hold 300 and 400 Iron Ore. Iron Ore stacks to 999, so 700 fit in one stack: moving the 300 to the second retainer frees one slot. A crafting plan for five Iron Ingot needs 15 Iron Ore, so both rows are marked to keep that amount; the rest can go to a vendor at 1 gil each or to the market board at its current price.
