FFXIV Mini Cactpot: which cells to reveal and which line to pick

Mini Cactpot is the Gold Saucer's scratch ticket. Each ticket hides the numbers 1 to 9, one per cell of a three by three grid. One number is already showing when you start. You scratch three more cells, then choose one of eight lines: a row, a column or a diagonal. The three numbers on that line are added up, and the sum decides your MGP. You can buy three tickets a day.

How do I unlock Mini Cactpot?

Reach level 15 and complete It Could Happen to You, the quest that opens the Gold Saucer. Then take Scratch It Rich and speak to the Mini Cactpot Broker in the Gold Saucer to buy your tickets.

What does each sum pay?

The payout depends only on the sum of the chosen line. The two extremes pay the most: a line of 1, 2 and 3 sums to 6 and pays 10,000 MGP, and a line of 7, 8 and 9 sums to 24 and pays 3,600 MGP. Other strong sums are 23 (1,800 MGP), 21 (1,080 MGP) and 8 (720 MGP). Sums in the middle, from 13 to 19, mostly pay between 36 and 180 MGP. The Mini Cactpot solver shows the full table beside the ticket.

How do I choose my reveals and my line?

Enter the numbers you can see in the matching cells of the solver. For every line it lists the lowest and highest payout that can still happen with the hidden numbers, and it marks the reveal that raises your guaranteed payout the most. Scratch that cell in the game, enter the new number and repeat. After the third reveal, pick the line with the best guaranteed payout, or the line whose maximum you want to gamble on.

The solver does not guess where hidden numbers are. It only compares what every remaining arrangement of the hidden numbers could pay, so its advice is the safe choice, not a prediction.

A worked ticket

Suppose the ticket shows 6 in the top middle, 4 in the middle left, 3 in the middle right and 2 in the bottom left. The middle row and the descending diagonal both guarantee at least 54 MGP, while every other line can fall to 36 MGP. Choosing the middle row, the hidden centre turned out to be 5: 4 + 5 + 3 makes 12, which pays 108 MGP.

Open the solver, enter those four numbers and you get the same comparison. Copy the link to share a ticket, or come back later: the solver keeps the ticket you were working on.
